British Colonial
This currently popular style evokes the romance of late 19th century Imperialism when the British colonies dominated parts of India, China, and the South Seas. Loosely based on the historical Regency period, the exotic nature of the British colonial style is inspired by the romance and intrigue of an Ernest Hemingway novel.
Woods typically are dark walnut, mahogany or teak often combined with wicker, cane and leather insets.
Hardware, if emphasized is usually well-proportioned and made from brass or wood.
